My path to becoming a Physician Assistant wasn’t a straight line, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I began my career as a secondary education teacher because I have always loved helping others learn, grow, and reach their potential. While I enjoyed teaching, I eventually realized that my calling was in healthcare.
I returned to school to become a respiratory therapist and spent the next ten years caring for critically ill patients. During that time, I found deep fulfillment in supporting patients and their families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Wanting to take on more responsibility and have an even greater impact on patient care, I went back to school again to become a Physician Assistant.
For the past three years, I’ve worked in a trauma ICU, where I’ve seen how trauma, addiction, mental illness, nutrition, and lifestyle all play a significant role in healing. Caring for patients in the hospital showed me that recovery doesn’t end at discharge. Many of the challenges that bring people into the ICU begin long before they arrive and continue long after they leave. Those experiences inspired me to pursue psychiatry, where I can help patients address the root causes of their struggles and support them in building healthier, more fulfilling lives.
My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe that the best care comes from working together, and I’m passionate about helping each patient find hope, healing, and a treatment plan that fits their unique needs. It is a privilege to walk alongside my patients on their journey toward better mental health.
